Contemporary history at Obersalzberg – a private half-day tour from Salzburg
In the 1930s Obersalzberg above Berchtesgaden became Hitler’s second seat of power. Today the Documentation Center Obersalzberg tells the story of this place and of the Nazi dictatorship, including part of the original bunker system.
You visit the exhibition with the long audio guide tour (approx. 1 hour). Outside, your guide explains the background – from the history of Obersalzberg to the story of the Eagle’s Nest. We also drive the Rossfeld Panorama Road with wide views over the Berchtesgaden Alps and finish with a short drive through Berchtesgaden.
